Jacques Sebag and Michel Ohnona, are two practicing Dentists who, from as early as 1982 (even before the existence of the first PCs), realized the extraordinary benefits that computers could bring to their profession.

Right from the start they anticipated the technological revolution that these little «boxes» would bring to practitioners who needed instant access to all of the elements that make up a dental clinic (patient details, radiographs, consultations, invoicing, etc.).

The computer was logically the only means of fulfilling this requirement: the Visiodent software was born. Year after year, the Visiodent program grew and improved, integrating each new technology as it arrived on the market.

The company therefore naturally evolved towards a global solution, combining all of the technological tools of dentistry with digital radiography (digital sensors, digital panoramics), and intra-oral cameras. Visiodent therefore created its very own digital radiology system: the RSV (Radiology System Visiodent). Resolutely innovative, this system is based on a unique technology, leaving other french and foreign manufacturers far behind. Its unbeatable quality / price ratio is such that it represents almost 45% of the company’s annual Sales Figure.

The Visiodent Group has the advantage of a unique diffusion amongst the 40,000 practitioners installed in France, with almost 30% of the market share, countrywide. Its introduction onto the new market of the Paris stock exchange in 1999 enabled Visiodent to take on a European dimension through strategic acquisitions.

In France, Visiodent acquired companies that were formerly their main competitors: notably Stadent, n°3 in the sector, and Gesdent, leader in dental software in the Mac.

Abroad, Visiodent acquired Dentat (leader of the Italian market) who joined the group in 2000, and took majority ownership of Nemotec Software, leader in Spain.

Thus, the Visiodent group made a clean sweep of all segments of the market (software for PC and Mac, software for specialists, etc.), and imposed itself as a leader not only on the french market, but on an international level.

International sales currently represent 30% of the sales figure (2005), and the Visiodent Group distributes its products in more than 40 countries.
